Each piece is a 10 × 10 inch square. Moda’s standard Layer Cake has 42 pieces, though the number can vary by collection.
Finished size
With a ¼ inch seam allowance on every side, a 10 inch square finishes at 9½ inches when sewn into a quilt. One 10 inch square can also be cut into four 5 inch squares, the size of a charm pack.
