Choose your paper style

Graph paper uses 2, 3, 5, or 10 mm squares, or ⅛, ¼, ½, or 1 inch squares. Heavier lines can mark every 2, 4, 5, 8, or 10 squares, with a heavier outside edge. For ¼ inch squares, choose every 4 squares for 1 inch sections; for ⅛ inch squares, choose every 8. The control shows the distance between heavier lines. Choose “None” for an even grid throughout.

Lined paper has evenly spaced horizontal writing lines. Choose 5, 6, 7, 8, or 10 mm, or ¼, ⅜, or ½ inch between lines. It starts at 8 mm spacing. These are spacing choices rather than universal notebook ruling standards.

Dot grid has evenly spaced dots in both directions. It uses the same spacing choices as graph paper and starts at 5 mm. Dot spacing is measured from the center of one dot to the center of the next.

Isometric paper uses vertical lines and diagonals at 30 degrees to the horizontal, forming equilateral triangles. Choose 2, 3, 5, or 10 mm triangle sides, or ⅛, ¼, ½, or 1 inch. It starts at 5 mm. The selected length is one triangle side: from one intersection to the next along any grid line. It is not the perpendicular gap between parallel lines. All three line directions use the same light weight, and triangles can be cut off at the sheet’s drawing-area edges.

Your spacing choice for each style is remembered while you switch on this page. Paper size, orientation, and ink color carry across styles. Blue, grey, and green all print on white paper.

Match the paper in your printer

US Letter is 8.5 × 11 inches. A4 is 210 × 297 mm. Choose portrait or landscape, and load the matching paper before printing. Each style keeps space around the edges for the header and scale line.

Keep the spacing you chose

Download the PDF and print at 100% or Actual size. Turn off “Fit to page” or other scaling options. The on-screen preview is reduced to fit your screen; use the downloaded PDF for printing.

The footer includes a check line. For metric spacing it should measure 50 mm from end tick to end tick; for inch spacing it should measure 2 inches. Measure that line on your first printed sheet. If it is the wrong length, check the print scale and paper-size settings before using the paper for measured work.
